A 45-year-old woman from Mankhurd, Mumbai, strangled her own son to death on Tuesday evening to protect her daughter-in-law from his violence. Nadeem Naim, her 25-year-old son, was a drug-addict and routinely used to subject his wife to domestic violence. The mother, named Anwari idrisi, was arrested the next morning for the murder of her son. Nadeem married a woman from Allahabad two years ago who at the time did not know about his addiction. Soon after their marriage, he started subjecting her to severe domestic violence.  Five months ago, she left his place after being fed up of his daily violent behavior and drug abuse. Nadeem’s mother reportedly did not want her to leave so she brought her back promising her that she wouldn’t let her son do drugs or beat her again and that she will save her if it happened again. A visit to the PEC’s regional office in Peshawar presents a picture of an organization that is in complete disarray. Dozens of people surround an officer inquiring him about the status of their license. On the right side of the table, a phone in slow volume is continuously ringing. The officer, looking visibly irritated, tries to answer the queries of the equally irritated applicants of PEC licence. “Tell him to call himself, I can’t tell you his license details”, the officer tells a person who says he has come all the way from Bannu just to know the status of their company’s PEC license. “He called many times but no one picks up the phone”, says the person while looking at the phone which is still ringing incessantly. However, the upcoming 2018 election is expected to be the most hotly contested election in Pakistan’s history. The poll had the names of PTI Chief Imran Khan, Maryam Nawaz Shareef, and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhuttto, whose party she recently joined. Henriette, 17, was found dead in her parents home with stab wounds to the neck in the Central town of Ramle, Israil on June 13. According to Jerusalem Post, the father, Sami Karra, believed Henriette’s actions “damaged the honor of the family and made him feel ashamed.” The local news source reported that the killing sparked a wave of outrage from Israeli-Arab Members of Knesset and community leaders accusing the police of not properly protecting the teenager despite her complaints against her family. The victim left home two weeks before her murder after her family used violence against her to try to end her year-long relationship with a Muslim man. Naeem Bukhari during Supreme Court proceedings of the disqualification case against Imran Khan referred to a decision of Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed in which he had written that article 62 could not be used as a political engineering tool. He told the SC bench Imran Khan had presented all his money trail that proves how he bought his London flat. Naeem Bukhari told the bench that Imran Khan’s case has nothing to do with money laundering. The SC bench observed that money laundering was not part of Hanif Abbas’s prayer but the court inquired about it for its own satisfaction. According to documents obtained from UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif receives a total of 50,000 AED salary per month from a company called, “INT. MECH & ELEC CO LLC”. The contract was renewed as recent as 8th Jun of 2017. According to the contract, Mr. Asif receives 35,000 fixed plus 15,000 other allowances, making it a total of 50,000 AED per month. PMLN leader Abid Sher Ali said there were no corruption charges against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. “Even the supreme court did not say anything about corruption against Nawaz Sharif”, he said. Abid Sher Ali was present in the supreme court to hear the final judgement in the Panama case against Nawaz Sharif and his family. He severely criticized his opponents for what he termed “political victimization” against the ruling Sharifs. “The nation will remember those who plotted against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif”, he further said. A five member panel of supreme court judges today decides on the Panama case verdict. Two judges have already disqualified Prime Minister among the five. If any one more judge decides to go with the two judges after the findings of the JIT, then Nawaz Sharif stands disqualified.
