Asma Shirazi joins Bol Network: 13 more to follow suit

Asma Shirazi, a famous anchorperson and host of current affairs show ‘Faisla Awam Ka’, becomes the latest journalist to join upcoming news channel, Bol. She joins the network as executive vice president and senior anchorperson.

Just recently, she received a Peter Mackler Award for Courageous and Ethical Journalism on 23rd October 2013. She was honored the award in recognition of her courageous reporting while facing various threats. She became the first Pakistani to receive this award.

Asma Shirazi started off her media career with Geo News in 2001. She then worked for different other channels such as ARY, Aaj News, and then Samaa TV. She left Samaa TV in 2010 to join Dawn News. She hosted ‘Faisla Awam Ka’ program on Dawn News.

Ms. Shirazi becomes the 4th big name to join Bol Network. The other three journalists who joined Bol are Kamran Khan, Waseem Badami, and Iftikhar Ahmad.

At first, Bol Network had a picture with 17 empty slots asking people to guess those number of names who would join Bol. A person with a correct guess was to receive one million rupees prize. Four slots have been filled, but who are going to be the other 13 people, is going to be a mystery until the next news of someone joining the network gets public.
