Not interested in arms race with India, Says Nawaz Sharif
Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif says that his country’s strategic capability was based on credible minimum deterrence and hence he was not interested in any arms race with India. He said this while visiting the National Command Center (NCC) of the National Command Authority (NCA). He reaffirmed his desire for peace in the region and to refrain from indulging in any kind of arms race. Instead of wasting the money to an unwanted arms race, both Pakistan and India must divert the tax payers money towards the poor of the two countries, he further said.
Nawaz Sharif extended his satisfaction over the safety and security mechanism of the Strategic Assets of Pakistan. He was also given a demonstration which showed an effective control over the Strategic Assets.
